A new service called OK Grandma, which combines compassion and ingenuity in a very Japanese way, is becoming more and more well-known nationwide. It allows consumers to rent elderly ladies for a variety of emotional and domestic requirements.
Client Partners, a Tokyo-based company, launched the service, which allows users to employ grandmothers between the ages of 60 and 94 for companionship, cooking, cleaning, and relationship counseling. To create a more familial atmosphere, some clients even ask grandmothers to attend weddings, sporting events, and social gatherings.
The idea is receiving a lot of attention for providing Japan’s aging female population with a sense of purpose and social interaction in addition to its novelty.
