ISLAMABAD: Among other things, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar called on United Nations General Assembly President Philemon Yang in New York on Monday to highlight India’s breach of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT).
They talked about a variety of international topics, such as the Middle East situation, the events in Iran and Afghanistan, and more general regional matters.
Key issues on the UN agenda, including initiatives to support sustainable development, were also discussed by the two leaders.
The minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for multilateralism and the UN’s pivotal role in world affairs.
In order to meet the aspirations of the whole international community, he urged for restructuring the UN and bolstering global governance.
