Pakistan’s disaster response agency reported on Tuesday that the country’s monsoon death toll had risen to 223 as new cloudbursts pounded parts of the nation, causing flash floods, landslides, and lightning strikes, especially in mountainous areas.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reports that ten people were hurt in rain-related accidents during the past 24 hours, and the most recent casualties include two men, eight children, and numerous women.
This monsoon season, 594 individuals have been injured in incidents caused by severe downpours. There were 112 children, 42 women, and 79 men among them. With 135 fatalities and 470 injuries, Punjab is still the most severely affected province.
