US President Donald Trump has unveiled a daring new strategy to expedite the sale of US AI technology to friendly nations by easing environmental regulations.
According to him, the action is necessary to stay ahead of China in what he refers to as the “tech race of the century.”
The initiative also seeks to establish a single, unambiguous national norm for AI, preventing various US states from creating their own regulations.
President Trump described the risks of a technology weapons race with China in a speech marking the plan’s launch, claiming it will be a competition that shapes the twenty-first century.
