The UN food aid agency has warned that nearly one in three Gazans are going days without eating.
According to a statement from the World Food Programme (WFP), “90,000 women and children are in urgent need of treatment as malnutrition is on the rise.”
This week, there have been more severe warnings of famine in Gaza. According to the territory’s Hamas-run health ministry, nine more persons perished from malnutrition on Friday, increasing the total number of such deaths since the start of the war to 122.
Israel, which regulates all supplies entering Gaza, claims that aid entering the region is unrestricted and holds Hamas accountable for any starvation.
