President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that he wants Elon Musk’s tech companies to succeed and that he would not destroy them by removing federal subsidies.
The comments come after a public argument about his tax bill with a former close ally. The millionaire from space and autos declared in July that a new political party would be formed, claiming that Trump’s “big, beautiful” tax bill would cause America to go bankrupt.
“Everyone is saying that by removing some, if not all, of the substantial subsidies Elon receives from the US government, I will kill his businesses. This isn’t true. Trump stated in a message on social media.
“I want Elon, and all businesses within our Country, to THRIVE.”
