NEW DELHI: In the western Indian state of Rajasthan, the roof of a school building collapsed on Friday, killing at least four children and injuring 17, according to local media. Dozens more others are still thought to be trapped beneath the debris.
Locals gathered around the collapse site as authorities used a crane to clear the rubble, according to news station visuals.
According to the local media, the building fell while pupils were in class at a government school in Jhalawar.
According to NDTV, the event happened at the Piplodi Government School in Manohar Thana, Jhalawar district, at approximately 8:30 a.m. local time. When the roof of the one-story structure fell, officials reported that about 40 children, teachers, and staff were inside.
