KARACHI: In their second Pool A encounter at the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship, Pakistan defeated host Uzbekistan 3-0 to extend their winning streak.
With set scores of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-21, the triumph demonstrated Pakistan’s supremacy on the court in spite of the difficult home crowd environment.
Muhammad Yahya, the captain, led the charge with a strong effort, scoring 21 attack points out of 24 points. His skill and leadership were essential to winning. Other noteworthy performers included Saud, who supplied 10 points, and Muhtad Ali Shah and Ajmal Janid, each contributing 9 points to the tally.
In both attack and block points, Pakistan performed better than Uzbekistan. With 12 attack points to Uzbekistan’s 5, the squad outscored them by 45 to Uzbekistan’s 28.
