Yahya Afridi, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), has emphasized the vital significance of a cohesive and inclusive approach to judicial reform, stating that the National Judicial Policy is essential to the efficient operation of the nation’s legal system.
Speaking during a ceremony in Islamabad, the chief justice underlined that group knowledge always wins out over personal interests and that only by the active involvement and ownership of all stakeholders can long-lasting reforms be accomplished.
Justice Afridi disclosed that the judiciary is actively exploring implementing a two-shift system in courts to speed up case hearings and resolutions, which is a big advance. Additionally, he declared that judges will now convene daily hearings in model criminal trial courts to handle ongoing criminal cases.
