In response to orders from Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the Sindh government has formally eliminated parking fees in all 25 Karachi localities, the Local Government Department announced in a declaration.
Murtaza Wahab, the mayor of Karachi, formally requested that the chief minister do away with parking taxes in order to alleviate the burden on the populace and address the mounting complaints about unlawful charge collecting.
Parking charge collection was previously forbidden inside the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) authority. The most recent directive, however, broadens the prohibition to include all of the city’s towns in an effort to combat illegal fee collection and standardize parking laws.
