The Punjab government was notified by the Supreme Court on Tuesday on the bail requests made by Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in the violent cases from May 9.
This occurred when a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi resumed hearing on a series of appeals submitted by the founder of the PTI against the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) denial of bail requests in cases from May 9.
CJP Afridi pointed out during the proceedings that the bail petitions had been accompanied by specific findings. He stated that at this point, the court would not address the legal merits of the case or offer a commentary on whether such conclusions were accurate.
