Janice’s family announced her death on Instagram, saying the singer passed away quietly at her childhood home on Wednesday morning.
“We are eternally thankful for the outpouring of love that Catherine and our family have received over the past few months,” they stated.
“Cat is at ease knowing that she will be able to support her kid through her music, even if she never imagined her music would take her where it has. Without all of you, this would not have been possible. I’m grateful.
The singer revealed a teaser for her song Dance You Outta My Head at the beginning of the year, stating that her “cancer had won” and that her seven-year-old son would receive all of the song’s revenues.
The song, which was released on January 19, has climbed to the top of the TikTok Billboard Top 50 and into the top.
