The 47-year-old Mary, together with her daughter, 12, and son, 17, had been living in a single room of a bed and breakfast since November 2022, when their landlord chose to sell their privately rented apartment.
Councils are not allowed to accommodate pregnant women or families with children in temporary housing for longer than six weeks under the Housing Act.
The family has now been waiting for 15 months for Croydon Council to find them a permanent place to reside.
