At Los Angeles International Airport, fire engines were stationed but were not required when the Boeing 777 touched down without incident.
The aircraft made a safe landing two-thirds of the way down the runway, according to airport spokesperson Dae Levine.
There were fourteen crew members and 235 passengers on the aircraft.
The aircraft, according to United Airlines, was manufactured in 2002 and was intended to land safely even with one or more broken tires.
The two primary landing gears of Boeing 777s are equipped with six tires each.
Moments after takeoff, Flight 35 is shown on video losing one of its six tires on the main landing gear assembly on the left side of the aircraft.
