With 36 points and 16 rebounds from Davis and 26 points and 10 assists from James, the Lakers defeated the Hawks 150-145.
The Lakers scored 10 points in the last minute to win their third straight game, despite Indiana scoring 46 points in the last quarter.
“We allowed them to score 145, so it was terrible defensively, but we can do what we want offensively,” Davis stated.
However, we must play defense, particularly against a squad that is having problems. A win is a win at this point in the season, but we don’t have to give them life.”
With 11 games left in the 82-game regular season, the Lakers, who begin a series of six away games on Tuesday, are eighth in the Western Conference. The final season play-offs are open to the top eight finishers.
With ten games remaining, the Pacers are now sixth in the Eastern Conference.
In other news, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 118-93 to solidify their second-place standing in the Eastern Conference. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points and pulled down a season-high 19 rebounds.
