The A9 road was stopped in both directions on Wednesday morning due to an accident.
The police announced that there were “many casualties.”
According to the operator of the bus, “the exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known”; nonetheless, the bus toppled on the heavily used highway that links Berlin and Munich.
Ambulances and rescue helicopters were also dispatched to the location.
The bus was headed from Berlin to Zurich, carrying about 53 passengers and two drivers.
Later, the double-decker car was turned upright to carry on the rescue operation, according to a German news agency.
The local Deaconess hospital had made arrangements for operating rooms and placed CT scans on standby in anticipation of the casualties, according to the newspaper.
According to the news, which “regrets” the tragedy, the company’s main priority is to support every customer.
It continued: “For uninjured passengers, we offer onward transportation to their desired destination and are also personally available to provide support.”
