LONDON: For spitting on a woman here in September of last year, the driver of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is accused of common assault by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
According to a complaint made by Brunei national Panzani Cheema, who works in London, close protection officer Farid Nemouchi has been charged with the alleged “common assault,” the CPS informed News.
Just prior to the incident, Nawaz Sharif was interviewed by Pakistani media. As Nemouchi was leaving to drive Nawaz home from his son Hasan Nawaz’s office, Cheema had suddenly materialized and began filming and interrogating.
The guard and his criminal law specialist attorney, Moeen Khan, made an appearance before the Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday afternoon.
Before the judge, he entered a not guilty plea and declared that he will fight the accusations of spitting on Cheema, who was not present in court.
Panzani Cheema was traumatized and upset by the spitting conduct, the prosecutor informed the judge. The judge informed Farid that he was free to leave the country without any restrictions. The trial is scheduled for a later time in July or June.
On September 16 of last year, Cheema had rapped on the car’s window. While driving Nawaz Sharif, Farid Nemouchi rolled down the window and greeted the women. “Hello,” the woman greeted Nawaz Sharif, adding, “I’ve heard you’re a very corrupt politician in Pakistan.”
