DI KHAN: According to authorities on Sunday, two Pakistan Customs personnel were shot and killed in an attack close to York Toll Plaza in the Dera Ismail Khan neighborhood of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Four more people were injured in the gun incident, according to law enforcement officials, and they have been sent to the DHQ Hospital.
The unidentified armed attackers reportedly opened fire before fleeing the scene, according to the police.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vehemently denounced the incident and emphasized that such terrible deeds would not weaken the government’s commitment and that the battle on terrorism would not end until it was totally eradicated.
According to a statement from the PM Office Media Wing, the prime minister prayed for the deceased souls and for the bereaved families to endure their losses with courage.
He said that the government was now in charge of providing for the bereaved families of the officials and gave the chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) instructions to put together a shuhada package for the families.
In the same week, there have been two attacks on Customs agents in DI Khan. On April 18, a fire incident in the KP district claimed the lives of six persons, including five Customs personnel.
