Strong winds from the Sahara Desert brought dust clouds to the city of Athens, in Southern Greece, on Tuesday, causing the skies to become orange. The city includes famous sites like the Acropolis.
This occurrence revealed to the world during the final hours of daylight what a Martian city may look like, according to the New York Post.
“It’s among the worst instances of Saharan dust and sand concentrations since the clouds overran the island of Crete on March 21–22, 2018,” the Athens Observatory’s director of meteorological research Kostas Lagouvardos stated.
