Masood Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, stated that the threat of terrorism was a serious risk to the US and its allies in the area, as well as to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Speaking to an audience of academics, thinkers, and opinion leaders at the World Affairs Council of Charlotte’s Ambassador Circle Series in the US state of North Carolina, Khan emphasised that the threat posed by terrorism had not gone away simply because the US had left Afghanistan.
“Pakistan and the US must continue working together through all diplomatic channels and tools to maintain regional peace and stability,” he stated.
Improved defense capabilities were crucial, he argued, because of Pakistan’s difficult geography and unforgiving neighbors.
