Meghan Markle once touched upon culture shock as she met Prince William and Kate Middleton for the first time.
The Duchess of Sussex, in her Netflix docuseries titled ‘Harry & Meghan,’ revealed Kate’s reaction when she hugged her for the first time.
In the Netflix documentary, she recalled that she was wearing torn jeans and was barefoot when Will and Kate came over and I first met her.
“I have always hugged people, almost like I was. I had no idea how startling that is to many Britons. I began to realize that the exterior formality was reflected internally.”
Prince Harry continued, saying, “It really freaked him out when I introduced Meg because she leaned in and gave him an embrace.” He recoiled.”
He continued: “Maybe Willy expected Meg to be curtsy? When she first met a member of the Royal Family, it would have been customary to follow certain procedures, but I kept it a secret from her.”
