KARACHI: Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, the home minister of Sindh, chaired a high-level discussion about the state of law and order in the city while he was at the Karachi Police Office.
During the home minister’s visit to the Karachi Police Office (KPO), Additional Inspector General (Addl. IG) Imran Yaqoob Minhas, the city police chief, briefed Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar on the proposal to establish a squad modeled after Lahore’s Dolphin Force to combat street crime.
He stated that 1,800 motorcycles ought to be available for use in patrol.
In addition to hiring 9,200 police officers for the city, a spokesman for the police chief suggested providing 1,100 cars, 2,000 handguns, and 5,000 anti-riot kits for the motorcycle unit.
