Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister, arrived in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on Tuesday to talk about the “concerns” of Pakistani students who, together with other foreigners, were attacked by locals in a crowd last week.
The visit coincides with a surge in Pakistan’s student exodus from Bishkek following the violent local mob attacks on foreign citizens last week, which resulted in the return of over 800 students to their home country.
Following a fight between Egyptian and Kyrgyz students, at least five Pakistani students were hurt in the city’s mob attacks on private residences owned by foreign students, including those from Pakistan, and medical university dorms.
