ISLAMABAD: Raoof Hasan, a spokesman for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has demanded that Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa step down from the benches where his party’s cases are being heard. Hasan claims that since the top judge took over, the party has not received justice.
As to The News, Hasan expressed his dissatisfaction in an interview with a private TV channel, stating that although his party was not receiving justice earlier, its petitions were not being considered at this time.
For whatever reason, it is not a good custom for judges to remain on their benches. “CJP Isa should not sit on benches in our cases, as requested by the PTI core committee,” he continued.
He claimed, “Unfortunately, the decisions that are being made are perceived as being biased; the element of favoritism in case verdicts reinforces our demand.”
The spokesperson brought up the iddat case involving PTI founder Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi, stating that the judge was initially asked to step aside from the case but declined. On the day of the verdict, he did, however, later withdraw from the lawsuit.
“We are aware that the IDDAT case decision was made based solely on merit. He emphasized that, in general, the court should not be used for political purposes and that it should not permit itself to be utilized.
