The Press Association reports that the boat had difficulties this morning, leading to the rescue of some 80 migrants.
It is believed that some members of the gang were dragged out of the sea.
During the incident off the coast of Kent on Thursday morning, Border Force received assistance from Coastguard and lifeboat teams.
The news agency is aware that no deaths have been recorded as of yet, and it is currently unknown if anyone will require hospitalization.
The Coast Guard was “coordinating the response to a small boat incident in the channel,” according to a spokeswoman.
They said, “News lifeboats and Coast Guard helicopters from Lydd and Lee-on-Solent have been dispatched.
“HM Coastguard tasked the Overwinter News all-weather lifeboat and the Walmer inshore lifeboat to launch this morning (6 June) to an incident in the English Channel,” a representative said.
According to the most recent official statistics, 331 people have arrived in the UK in the previous seven days after traveling over the Channel in tiny boats.
The greatest number of people ever to cross the Channel in a single day occurred last month.
According to the Home Office, 14 boats with 711 passengers made the journey on May 1.
