HYDERABAD: A big group of people assembles outside a home where women are sobbing inconsolably as they receive the remains of two children.
The youngsters were among the 63 burn victims of a catastrophe unheard of in the history of the city, which occurred on this street in the Paretabad neighborhood.
27 persons have died as a result of the massive explosion that occurred at a gas cylinder shop on May 30, 19 of them were youngsters. One of the victims, a toddler, passed away on Saturday, and there are still a few injured people in severe condition.
A short distance away on a nearby street, a different gathering of people gathers beneath tents to offer their condolences to the bereaved heirs of the departed.
Most of the lower-middle class people who live in this burgeoning neighborhood are struggling to make ends meet. This neighborhood has seen two or three children’s funerals almost every day since the explosion day for the previous few weeks.
