In the first criminal prosecution of the offspring of a sitting US president, Hunter Biden, 54, was found guilty on three firearms offenses.
In response to criminal allegations of lying about his addiction on a federal screening form for the revolver and illegally carrying the firearm for eleven days, Biden entered a not guilty plea.
Following the jury’s three-hour lengthy deliberation, First Lady Jill Biden arrived in the courtroom and was observed embracing her stepson’s hand as they departed.
President Biden acknowledged the findings in a statement after they were announced, adding that his son was thinking about filing an appeal.
At Delaware Air National Guard Base, the president was photographed holding his son shortly after the guilty verdict was announced.
Hunter Biden’s sister-in-law and ex-wife testified during the trial, detailing his spiraling addiction in the weeks leading up to and following his purchase of the pistol.
Additionally, the prosecution presented text messages, images, and bank records that they claimed demonstrated Biden’s extreme addiction at the time of the gun purchase.
