KARACHI: In the Gulistan-e-Johar neighborhood of the city, a vehicle carrying sacrificial goats was the object of a heinous crime, police told News, close to Kamran Chowrangi.
The police provided specifics of the incident, stating that the vehicle containing at least thirty sacrifice goats was approached by four suspects riding a motorcycle.
Before stealing the truck, two of the suspects forced the driver out of the car at gunpoint.
The unfortunate robber, Abdul Manan, the trader, disclosed that the goats were being carried from Hyderabad to Gulistan-e-Johar.
Additionally, the police stated that following the trader’s filing of a first information report (FIR), an inquiry into the occurrence was launched.
Days before Eid ul Adha, which Muslims celebrate worldwide at the conclusion of the Islamic year, and during which they sacrifice cattle, including goats, cows, bulls, and camels, the incident took place.
These kind of robberies have increased in frequency as the yearly celebration approaches, with large crowds returning with sacrificed livestock. This year’s robbery is not the first of its kind.
According to The News, two such incidences involving locals in Lahore losing their sacrifice goats to armed individuals occurred a few weeks ago.
Two goats were taken from a small boy at gunpoint by bandits in the Samanabad neighborhood of Lahore, and they then ran away.
