Pakistan’s prospects of making it to the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup are dependent on the outcome of today’s vital game between the USA and Ireland at Central Broward Park and Broward County Stadium in Florida.
Ireland’s win in the competition will determine the fate of the Men in Green. With six points, the US would comfortably qualify for the Super 8 if they win the game.
But if the game is called off, the US and Ireland would each receive one point, which would still qualify them for the Super 8, which would not be good for Pakistan.
Fortunately, with the current weather, the chance of a washout has diminished.
There is just a 20% risk of rain throughout the game, according to the favorable weather forecast; however, this probability will rise to 30% by midday.
At 10:30 a.m. local time (7:30 p.m. Pakistan Standard Time), the game is scheduled to begin.
Every innings must consist of a minimum of five overs in order for the match to conclude with a decision. In addition, the two teams will have an extra ninety minutes to accommodate for inclement weather.
In the interim, the Pakistani team will play the Irish team in their last group game on Sunday, June 16, at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium.
The last three Group A games will be held in Florida, which is home to the clubs battling for a position in the Super Eight stage.
