Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, took to Twitter once more to criticize the federal government, claiming that the Centre was “taking revenge” on the people of KP while the region continued to experience hours-long power outages.
The chief minister added that the Centre had further decreased KP’s share of the electricity supply in a video message that was made public on Tuesday.
Gandapur referred to the administration led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as the previous coalition, the “Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) government,” saying, “The Centre is not fulfilling the commitment made [with KP government].”
“The PDM government is using lies and falsehood,” he remarked.
The KP CM bemoaned the complaints he was receiving about timetable violations for load shedding in the province.
The provincial authorities were “fully cooperating” with the authority on the issue of line losses, Gandapur continued, while the local employees of the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) had been cooperating as best they could.
He added that there will be another meeting between the federal and provincial governments over this issue shortly.
Firebrand political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) advised the PML-N-led government to “fix your behaviour” with the KP administration. If the Center didn’t act, he continued, people would emerge onto the streets.
