The RSPCA reports that the puppies, whose breed is unknown, were found by a member of the public.
Around 11 a.m. on Friday, the three black puppies were discovered close to Purnell’s Farm, the local name for the entrance to St. Julian’s Park nature reserve.
In front of the playground on Renoir Road, they were found by an observer.
They had been wrapped in a blue jumper and left inside a black shoe box.
Animal rescue officer Danielle Wilson of the RSPCA called the outcome “very sad” and praised the member of the public who raised the alarm.
These three puppies couldn’t have been that old at all because their umbilical cords were still in place, the woman claimed.
It’s unclear to us if they passed away after giving birth or if someone simply didn’t know what to deal with the bodies.
“We’re making enquiries about CCTV in the area, and I’ve placed a poster at the location in a bid to get information.”
Anyone with firsthand knowledge of the incident is encouraged to contact the RSPCA through its appeal number.
