KARACHI: On Thursday, there was rain on the port city’s outskirts, but the rest of the city is still quite hot under the sun, with a “feels like” temperature of 53°C.
There was recorded downpour in the following city locations: Super Highway, Malir, Gadap, and nearby areas. There were thunderstorms over Karachi’s northeast.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that the city is still experiencing extraordinarily hot and muggy conditions, with a high of 40°C at 2:00 pm.
“We are experiencing temperatures as high as 53°C. According to the Met Office, there is 47% humidity in the air.
PMD had earlier predicted rain in the city today, with the potential for afternoon precipitation in the suburbs and other sections of the city.
