Ferguson honored the late princess on her 63rd birthday by posting a tribute to her on Instagram. The ex-royal uploaded a picture of the two of them grinning and standing side by side on Buckingham Palace’s balcony in September 1990, during the Battle of Britain Anniversary Parade.
“Happy birthday to Diana, a close friend of mine. You were a source of love and brightness. Additionally, what a legacy you have left behind “in the caption, she remarked. “I will always cherish our jokes and the compassionate nature I discovered in you. I’m sure you’re always keeping an eye on us. Peace be with you, dear friend.”
When Diana was married to Prince Charles and Fergie to Prince Andrew, they were the closest of all the royal family members. But their friendship goes much further than that; Diana and Ferguson were 14 when they first met.
“In June 2023, during her podcast “Tea Talk with the Duchess and Sarah,” Ferguson stated, “Her mother and my mother were great friends while they were at school together.” Diana was my fourth cousin as well. You know, the fact that we were reunited is absolutely incredible.
