Over the past year, the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has accomplished noteworthy milestones and fulfilled its purpose in the agriculture sector.
SIFC launched Lamz as part of its Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI), introducing cutting-edge irrigation techniques like pivot irrigation, spray irrigation, and modular drip irrigation to improve water use efficiency and support sustainable agriculture.
In order to give farmers essential information on climate change, satellite crop monitoring, and the best ways to use water, fertilizer, and sprays, Lamz has also established a website and mobile application. Lamz also found 4.4 million acres of uncultivated land that might be turned into productive farmland.
By working with seven foreign and eighty-five local investors, Lamz used a business-to-business (B2B) strategy to span 600,000 acres and drastically change the agricultural environment.
Limz advocated the restoration of the mangroves under the Government-to-Government (G2G) model, working with Kuwait for the Investment Corporation and the United Arab Emirates for wastewater treatment.
By cutting the seed testing period from two years to one year, the government has enhanced seed certification. A national seed policy is also being drafted.
