In an effort to get justice, the family and other relatives of a youngster who was struck by a car in Islamabad two years ago has set up a protest camp outside the National Press Club in the nation’s capital.
Details indicate that two persons, including Shakeel Tanoli, perished in June 2022 in the Khanna neighborhood of Islamabad after being struck by a speeding car.
Following a request for action from Shakeel’s father Rafaqat Tanoli, the Lahore High Court owned the car that was involved in the collision, according to the investigation. Later, Rafaqat filed a complaint with the Islamabad High Court, citing the Islamabad police’s incompetence in handling the issue.
Shakeel’s family demands that the people who caused his death in the car be held accountable.
On June 8, 2022, around midnight, a sports car allegedly driven by the daughter of a Lahore High Court judge struck two individuals close to the Sohan bridge on the Islamabad Expressway. The case inquiry had not moved forward.
Juvenile records state that at midnight, Shakeel Tanoli and his colleague Hasnain Ali were being transported home when they were struck by an SUV that was purportedly driven by a woman.
The details indicate that the woman abandoned the car and left the site. After being taken by the police, the car was given to a Lahore High Court officer on “superdari” in July 2022, with the understanding that he would turn it in for a court hearing as needed.
