By acquiring new passport production equipment, the government increased efforts to resolve the nationwide passport crisis.
A request was created by the DG Passport and Immigration and forwarded to the Ministry of Interior.
According to sources, new machinery will be ordered in September from outside. It has been learned that two e-passport computers and six desktop computers would be ordered at first. In an hour, the new machines can print 1000 passports.
The sources added that there has been a national delay in passport issuance over the past year. The low machinery efficiency was the cause of this slow operation.
