A tragic event occurred in the Khushab district when ten youngsters drowned while taking a dip in the Chashma Jhelum Link canal. Four youngsters were successfully rescued as soon as local authorities and rescue services rushed into action.
Eventually, the bodies of three of the six missing youngsters were pulled out of the canal by rescue personnel. Waqas and Samiullah were the names of two of the bodies.
The victims also include two brothers, and all of the people who drowned were reported to be close relatives between the ages of 14 and 16, according to the rescue personnel.
Teams from the Pakistan Navy are also assisting in the search for the final three bodies.For hours, local teams and specialized diving units have been leading the rescue effort, but they have not been able to locate the other missing kids.
Chief of Rescue Hafiz Abdul Rasheed acknowledged that even with the use of specialized dive crews, there were difficulties during the operation. “The efforts are ongoing to locate and retrieve the bodies of the remaining four children who are still missing,” he said.
