Do you ever find it difficult to take notes during phone interviews or forget critical phone conversations? AI-powered capabilities in Apple’s iOS 18.1 developer beta could be able to help you with these issues.
According to MacRumours, the new AI-powered features, included into the company’s iOS 18.1 developer beta as part of Apple Intelligence, enable users to record and transcribe phone calls.
To record a call audio log, users who have access to the beta can hit the new “record” button located in the upper-left corner of the call screen.
All callers will hear a notification stating, “This call will be recorded,” as soon as this function is activated. After that, the Phone app will automatically record the call and produce a transcription that will show up on the Notes app.
Users will now be able to access an AI-generated summary of the call and the entire audio recording in the Notes app.
Call recording was initially demonstrated by Apple at its June Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
The Verge claims that journalists who frequently do interviews over the phone may find the feature helpful. It might also come in handy if you’re speaking with a doctor over the phone and want to make sure you remember everything they say.
