The government is ready to put more of a strain on people who use power. For a month, there’s a chance that the price of power may rise by Rs2.63 per unit.
In a request submitted to NEPRA, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) is requesting an increase in electricity rates under the June fuel cost adjustment heading.
On CPPA’s request, NEPRA will hold a hearing today. CPPA had already sent NEPRA a revised request.
The June fuel price adjustment is the heading under which the increase is requested. The original request was revised to Rs2.63 per unit, instead of the original request for an increase of Rs2.10 per unit.On the other hand, representatives of the power division have declared that there would be no increase in the cost of electricity and that the bills will be cheaper than in June.
18.10% of the electricity produced was from LNG imports, and 14.85% came from nuclear fuel.
