Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Raoof Hasan was granted a one-day physical detention to the counterterrorism department by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Friday in connection with a terrorism case.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra heard Hasan’s request for bail in the case before announcing the reserved verdict.
The PTI information secretary is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, according to the judge. His two-day physical remand ended today, and he was in the courtroom.
On July 31, the CTD took Hasan into custody.
In order to obtain the identities of the other co-accused, prosecutor Raja Naveed asked the court to place the PTI leader under physical remand for an additional seven days.The prosecutor informed the court that “Raoof Hasan’s custody is required to gain access to the suspects.”
The court was informed by Hasan’s attorney, Ali Bukhari, that his client had not retrieved any gunpowder. “CTD launched a raid and kept Raoof Hasan in custody for two days,” he stated.
