The spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said that following claims of a Pakistani national’s purported involvement in the abortive attempt to assassinate former US President Donald Trump, Islamabad was in contact with the Washington authorities and awaited further details.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, a FO spokesperson, stated in a statement: “We have noticed the media reports. We are awaiting more information and are in contact with US authorities.
The spokeswoman stated that they had taken note of US officials’ claims that the probe is still ongoing.
“We also need to be certain of the individual in question’s antecedents before giving our formal reaction,” she continued.
In the US, a Pakistani man with suspected ties to Iran faces charges related to a botched plot to assassinate a US politician or government officials, the Justice Department said on Tuesday.
