RAWALPINDI: In an effort to express opposition to national inflation, especially the rising price of energy, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) decided on Thursday to march in the direction of Murree Road.
In addition to holding a sit-in in Rawalpindi, the party wrapped up its fourth round of “confidential” negotiations with the government to break the impasse over the demands they made during the rallies, however no firm agreement was reached.
Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday at the Commissioner’s House, JI Deputy Emir Liaquat Baloch stated that the public is supposed to receive respite from the party’s sit-in.
“We will go ahead with our march on Murree Road which will start at 6pm on Thursday and we will inform media if any progress is made in talks with the government,”
