Senator Irfan-ul-Haque Siddiqui of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has resigned from the Senate’s Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training due to alleged misbehavior by fellow senator Bushra Anjum Butt.
The parliamentary leader of the PML-N in the Upper House of parliament, Senator Siddiqui, submitted his resignation from the Senate body after Senator Butt, a member of the ruling party, prevented him from voicing his ideas during yesterday’s session.
Senators Fawzia Arshad and Khalida Ateeb asked Butt to apologize to Siddiqui after the event that tensely ended the session, and she did so right away.
After the senior journalist-turned-politician accepted her apologies, the disagreement was settled.
