Residents living along the riverbanks have been forced to evacuate with their possessions and cattle to safer areas as the River Chenab’s water level has started to rise in Trimmu.
The city’s protective embankment is being approached by floodwaters, and the local rescue services have also been placed on high alert.
Authorities anticipate that during the next 24 hours, a significant flood will pass through Trimmu as a result of the recent flooding that has raised water levels. Residents living in vulnerable regions along the river have already received warnings from the district administration as flooding begin to encroach on surrounding settlements.
A flood alert has been issued in reaction to the worsening circumstances, and all pertinent officers have been told to stay on the ground in order to handle the disaster.
