Early on Tuesday morning, there were several earthquake tremors in several parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, alarming the locals.
Muzaffarabad experienced the earthquakes, which also affected the neighboring areas of Leepa Valley, Karnah, and Jhelum Valley.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Met Department in Islamabad, the first earthquake occurred at 6:16 a.m. and registered a Richter Scale measurement of 5.1. The second earthquake occurred just seven minutes later at 6:23 a.m. and registered a Richter Scale measurement of 5.3.
People fled their houses and buildings in terror as both shocks, which struck at a depth of only 20 kilometers each, were strong enough to be felt over a large area.
