ISLAMABAD: On Friday, the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination announced that a person who had traveled back to Peshawar from a Gulf nation had contracted the second incidence of mpox in Pakistan.
At the Peshawar, Bacha Khan International Airport health desk, which screens arriving travelers, the man tested positive for mpox.
A spokesman for the health ministry stated that the person had viral symptoms when they arrived and was sent right away to a hospital for additional evaluation and care.
Tests later on verified that the patient tested positive for mpox.
