A police spokesperson claimed on Sunday that the Punjab Police had saved a police officer from a group of infamous Katcha (riverine area) dacoits in Machka in District Rahim Yar Khan.
Twelve police officers were killed and six more were injured when a group of Katcha bandits in Machka detonated two police cars with a rocket on Thursday.
Following the attack on the police mobile, thieves heavily armed with cutting-edge modern weaponry kidnapped Constable Ahmed Nawaz.
District Police Officer (DPO) Rahim Yar Khan, Rizwan Omar Gondal, stated in a statement that the police force was operating in the riverine areas at full capacity.
News sources claimed that Constable Nawaz was freed in return for Dacoit Jabbar Lolai, who had been detained by the police.
