In response to traders’ statewide call for protests over the scheme’s terms and increased taxes, the government has declared that it is prepared to reform the Trader Dost Scheme.
A notification regarding the amendment of the SRO is expected to be released shortly, according to sources inside the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The decision is the result of considerable dissatisfaction within the trade sector, which prompted major trade organizations to call for a nationwide walkout. The country’s two largest trade associations, Tanzeem-e-Tajiran-e-Pakistan and Markazi Anjuman Tajiran, declared a strike for today in opposition to the plan and the growing cost of power after the latter declined to engage in negotiations with the FBR.
To address the worries of the traders, the government is getting ready to implement modifications that will addressing the issues raised.
