In an effort to reduce traffic congestion, the administration plans to launch a crackdown on buses and wagons operating on Peshawar roads without permits, especially along the BRT route.
According to a press statement, this decision was made at a meeting held at the Commissioner’s House.
The chief minister gave the order to call the meeting to discuss traffic problems in the province capital. It was decided to detain the owners of any buses or wagons operating along the BRT line without a permit and to stop their activities immediately.
It was the responsibility of the Peshawar Development Authority’s Director General to make suggestions for resolving traffic congestion along the BRT line.
It was also decided by the participants to target public transportation vehicles that have unsafe gas cylinders.
