During a search operation to stop the unlawful sale of rare species of wild animals, a team from the Punjab Wildlife Department found snow leopard skin and detained the accused.
The group engaged in this illicit activities was also discovered throughout the investigation. The wildlife team is still searching for further group members to apprehend.
A representative for the Punjab Wildlife Department stated that the skin of these endangered snow leopards is valued at approximately $20,000 on the global market.
According to the representative, the gang was using social media sites to sell the skins of pricey and uncommon wildlife creatures illegally.
According to Maryam Aurangzeb, senior minister for Punjab, there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding wildlife protection regulations, and these kinds of actions are increasing the risk to endangered species in Pakistan.
